Capabilities keep our team growing and let us offer more unique, beneficial services to our clients. So, product developers, step right up – and get ready to be inspired. At Flying Pig Designs, we push boundaries to create incredible experiences for our clients. And now, with a variety of new 3D printers, a fume hood, and a state-of-the-art laser cutter, we can do even more. Curious what we’re working with? Check out our new machine capabilities!
Form 3L Capabilities
Looking for faster iterations? We were. Then we found the Form3L. Produced by Formlabs, this compact 3D printer can create large, accurate builds or small precise parts with ease. Plus, the 3L can use over 15 different materials to create a functional look and feel for prototypes, jigs, fixtures, and more. Boasting impressive capabilities like a high-resolution touch screen, an automated setup, and a nonstop throughput, the Form3L can print a range of projects from human-sized models to miniature adapters – that means the possibilities are endless.
Objet24 Capabilities
Imagine printing an object with walls as thin as a strand of human hair. Impressive, right? That’s the power of the Objet24. Produced by Stratasys, this desktop 3D printer give precision a new meaning with high-quality, PolyJet photopolymer printing and UV light technology. Consider it our partner in rapid prototyping.
The Objet24 offers a clear, visual display, so CAD files, job duration estimates, and material consumption reports are right at our fingertips. Plus, after curing, models can be handled immediately with no additional post-curing. No waiting means no wasted time, and that’s crucial to the product development process. Along with the standard model materials, the Objet24 also utilizes support material to complete more complicated part geometry. To say we love a challenge in an understatement – and we’re thrilled to have a printer that can tackle it with us.
Objet30 Prime Capabilities
If you thought 3D printing precision couldn’t get better than the Objet24, think again. Also produced by Stratasys, the Objet30 Prime provides the same stunning detail and quality with even more materials to choose from. Need speed and convenience? The Objet30 Prime allows us to build at efficient speeds and access print progress remotely to avoid costly issues before they occur. Less errors means more value for our clients — and that’s what we’re here for.
OMTech Upgraded 100W CO2 Laser Engraver Cutter Capabilities
The OMTech Laser Engraver Cutter uses a powerful 100-watt laser and large cutting surface to create fast, flawless designs with pinpoint accuracy. Plus, with engraving speeds of 0-500 mm/s and cutting speeds of 0-80 mm/s, the OMTech doesn’t waste any time making projects pop.
Need room for your robust new project? This convenient machine offers a dual-platform engraving surface with doors at the front and back to account for large or irregularly shaped objects. And, even when unexpected errors arise, we can perform final edits, make laser adjustments, and track progress with the all-new digital display and LightBurn design software.
FPD Team Capabilities
You’ve seen our machinery. You’ve read our blogs. But we’re not just an average engineering and design shop.
We can give you more.
Our capabilities and industry expertise can take your ideas to the next level. Yes, we’re mechanical engineers. But we’re also creators, industrial designers, project managers, and multitaskers. We work hard. We test limits. And we strive for greatness so our clients can achieve success.
As a result, you get the services you need all in one place — and if you can’t get them here, we’ll point you in the right direction. Regardless of where you are in your product development journey, we can meet you there and work through the process together.
Some resources we offer include:
- Rapid Prototyping – Quick and iterative model fabrication for the purpose of testing, learning, adapting, and improving function and form.
- 3D Printing – Also known as additive manufacturing, this is a layered printing process that uses various liquid materials to create physical parts or items.
- CAD Design – Also called computer-aided design, this process involves creating 2-D and 3-D renderings on specialized computer software to manipulate, adjust, analyze, and improve aspects of the design.
- Electrical Design – Creation and planning of electrical components such as wires, schematics, power systems, lighting telecommunication infrastructure, etc.
- Industrial Design – Design of products, items, objects, etc. for the purpose of enhancing appeal, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Laser Cutting – Technology that uses a laser to vaporize materials and leave cut material in desired shapes.
- Casting – Process in which liquid material is poured into a mold with the desired shape and left until solid.
- Prop Making – Creation of props and costume accents for screen, stage, cosplay, or other hobbies.
- Project Management – Oversight, guidance, and management of timeline, budget, and team communication during a project’s life cycle.
- Testing & User Research – The study, observation, and testing of user behaviors, needs, thoughts, and motivations for the purpose of enhancing function, appeal, and efficiency in design.
- Fume Hood Capabilities & Tissue Testing – This is a local ventilation device designed to limit exposure to hazardous or toxic fumes, vapors, particles, etc. It can also be used for tissue testing ( the analysis of a sample of bodily tissue at a lab). While not a specialty, we do offer these services.
If you’re a modern-day entrepreneur, small business, or investor with a brilliant idea, put your trust in us. We’ll provide the fastest path to market — and prove that pigs do fly when you’re on our team.
